My About Me

My name is Joi Ishikawa (first name pronounced like Joey), and I'm a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology. I graduated with Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and a Graduate Certificate in Robotics. I love the multi-disciplinary approach that I need to take with robotics and I apply that principal in all of my work. I love learning and when I am not working I am actively working on projects to learn new skills. My Robot Arm Project is a great example of this.

To relax, I'm usually playing games or looking for ways to be physically active. I'm a huge fan of soccer and I love playing and watching (my favorite team is Manchester United). Cooking is another one of my great hobbies and I dream of traveling around the world and experiencing different cultures through food, but I am of Japanese and Taiwanese heritage so those dishes will always hold a special place in my heart.

I have experience solving complex problems in diverse teams. At Stevens, I was a part of the co-op program to gain industry experience . I also worked on some individual and team-based projects for personal reasons, for classes, and for clubs. My interests lie in mechanical design of electromechanical systems, such as robotics.

I encourage you to take a look through this online CV and my project and work experience. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments.

Sincerely,

Joi Ishikawa
